Why I'm Doing This

Football was my dream, but it was never easy. I worked hard, stayed focused, and kept going even when things got tough.

Now I want to support others, not just on the pitch, but in life. This is about helping people feel seen, valued, and empowered to speak up and move forward.

Career Highlights

I came through the Watford academy and broke into the first team at a young age. I went on to play at the highest level and represent my country at the Olympics.

Representing Great Britain at the London 2012 Olympics was a massive honour. Playing in the Premier League with Bolton Wanderers was something I worked incredibly hard for. I always played with honesty, energy, and purpose — that is what I was about.

Life After Football

When I retired, I stepped into something even more important, speaking up about mental health and identity.

I started my own creative studio and became an advocate for mental wellbeing, especially for athletes. I use storytelling, art, and conversation to help break down stigma and open up honest dialogue.

Football gave me a platform. Now I am using it to support others who feel like they are carrying the weight of silence.

The Challenges I Have Faced

I struggled with depression during my career. For a long time, I felt like I had to hide it.

But facing those challenges head-on helped me grow. It taught me that vulnerability is not weakness. It is courage. Now I speak up so others know they are not alone.

The Support That Got Me Here

I had people who listened. People who gave me space to breathe. Family, friends, mentors — their support helped me through the hardest times.

That is the kind of presence I want to be for others now. A voice that says, “I get it. And you will get through it.”
