Why I'm Doing This

Football has shaped who I am. From a young boy kicking a ball around Nottingham to walking out onto some of the biggest stages in the world, it’s been a journey of highs, lows, and life-changing lessons. Now, I’m channelling everything I’ve learned to help others find their own path, on and off the pitch.

Career Highlights

My professional career began at Arsenal, where I signed at just 15 for a record fee at the time for a trainee. I made my Premier League debut at 17 and scored a hat-trick against Southampton on my first full start.

I went on to play for several clubs across the Premier League and Europe, including:

• Arsenal

• Leeds United

• Birmingham City

• Liverpool – where I had the honour of playing in the 2007 UEFA Champions League Final

• Portsmouth

• Real Zaragoza (Spain)

• Stoke City

• Wolverhampton Wanderers

• FC Pune City (India)

• Bury FC

• Tampines Rovers (Singapore)

One of the biggest moments of my career was wearing the Liverpool shirt in the Champions League Final. It's a memory that still gives me goosebumps. Playing in Europe, adapting to different leagues, and pushing myself beyond my comfort zone were all parts of the adventure.

Life After Football

Hanging up my boots was never going to be easy. Football had been my life since I was a boy. But the transition gave me time to reflect, to grow, and to try new things. I’ve found joy in connecting with people, telling my story, and using my experiences to help others navigate their own challenges.

My journey hasn’t always been smooth. Off-field issues made headlines at times, and I’ve had to work hard to overcome personal setbacks. But through it all, I’ve learned the value of resilience. I’ve made mistakes, faced the consequences, and grown stronger. Those moments have shaped me as much as any goal or match ever did.
