Former Premier League Midfielder & Pro Project Promotions Athlete
Career Highlights
My journey began at Arsenal, where I came through the academy alongside some top talent. That environment taught me discipline, drive, and how to handle pressure.
Throughout my career, I had the privilege of playing for some great clubs, including:
Arsenal
Scunthorpe United (loan)
Watford (loan)
Norwich City (loan) – helped secure promotion to the Premier League in 2011
West Ham United (loan)
Nottingham Forest – where I really found my rhythm and became club captain
Aston Villa
Luton Town
Bristol City
A standout moment for me was helping Norwich reach the Premier League and later leading Nottingham Forest as captain. That sense of responsibility brought out something new in me, it wasn’t just about the game anymore, it was about the people around me.
Life After Football
I’ve kept busy. Coaching. Learning. Living. Football never really leaves you, but I’ve enjoyed exploring who I am without the boots on.
It’s given me a new sense of purpose. I love seeing people grow. On the pitch or off it. Whether it’s helping young players find confidence or supporting mates through life’s tougher moments, this chapter feels just as important as the last.
"There’s more to life than goals and trophies. There’s growth. Community. Impact."
The Challenges I've Faced
It’s strange when the game stops. You’ve got time to think. Some of that thinking is tough.
You go from structure and routine to silence. But that space forces you to level up. To take control. I’ve become stronger, more grounded, and more aware of what really matters. That self-reflection has been a game changer.
The Support That Got Me Here
My family. My mates. They’ve been everything. When things felt uncertain, they gave me perspective. That steady kind of support, the stuff that doesn’t always get talked about… It’s priceless.
If I can help just one person feel like they belong again, I’ve done my bit.
Why I'm Supporting Pro Project Promotions
This movement is different. It’s positive. It’s full of heart. And it’s built on real stories. No filters. No ego. Just people using their voices to make things better.
I’m all in. Because what we’re building here matters.
The Cause That Means So Much to Me
We’re backing Sport in Mind, a brilliant charity using physical activity to improve mental health. Their message is simple but powerful, move your body, lift your mind.
I’ve seen firsthand how sport can pull people through dark times. Being part of this is deeply personal.
